Drops of Philosophy
About

Have you ever asked yourself how language relates to the world? Why can we successfully communicate with words we’re at a loss to define? What is a ‘possible world’? Do you find yourself wondering what “30% chances of rain” mean in terms of actual weather? Are you perplexed by the idea that your postcode can be a heart-disease factor? Then, Drops of Philosophy for Everyday Life is a podcast for you. In this series, Dr T. Mark Ellison and Dr Maïa Ponsonnet clarify simple philosophical and scientific concepts which often get misunderstood, in everyday life as well as in the interpretation of scientific results.

Mark is a cognitive scientist and mathematician; Maïa is a linguist with philosophical training and acquaintances with anthropology. Since we became friends a few years ago, conversation after conversation around our complementary backgrounds have been firing ideas about research, science, and how humans (mis)understand the world. Drops of Philosophy for Everyday Life shares those insights.
